With 92% of smallholder farmers meeting more than 50% of the world’s food needs, it is important to support these producers. Despite considerable agricultural potential, Africa, which holds about 60% of the world’s arable land, imports nearly 80% of its food products. This situation highlights the urgency of strengthening local production to improve food self-sufficiency.
It is in this perspective that Amaya, thanks to its innovative technology, is positioned to create a powerful agricultural ecosystem. Our mission is to support small farms in order to boost their productivity and help them overcome the challenges of climate change and market access. On 19 April 2024, we took a major step forward by formalizing a strategic partnership with the African Confederation of Agro-Pastoral Actors (C3A). This partnership aims to address the challenge of food self-sufficiency through digital solutions tailored to the needs of African smallholder farmers.
A Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Africa 🌍🌱
This partnership will implement an ambitious program focused on optimizing agricultural practices. With Amaya, smallholder farmers will receive technology support to better manage their inputs, monitor crop health, and receive personalized recommendations through artificial intelligence. In addition, this collaboration with C3A will open up new opportunities to improve farm profitability while ensuring environmental sustainability.
To better understand the scope of this alliance, a video was produced by Africa24, explaining the objectives and stages of this partnership. We invite you to discover it to learn more about our commitment to African farmers and the transformation of the agricultural sector.
